Impact on Student Success 

Mr. Adler is an excellent teacher.  One instructional skill that is evident while observing his lesson is how he manages to make science accessible to all his students by helping them connect complex concepts to real life occurrences and/or topics that are of interest to them. This year, L.Q. came to DCA as a new student in 8th grade.  He was demotivated and performing below grade level; but in a few months, L.Q. was showing interest in science and participating in class because Mr. Adler had built a trusting relationship and helped him connect the subject matter to topics that were interesting to him.  Mr. Adler’s unwavering commitment to student learning is evident in all the effort he makes to make learning fun and interesting. He plans hands-on activities that are fun and that students can explore in small groups, so everyone is motivated and feels safe to participate and learn.
